While visiting England I had the opportunity to examine an actual tube amplifier. These amplifiers were the source of sound system culture in the early days of dancehall. They were built by technicians a great understanding of the sound that was needed to propel Jamaica’s dancehall vibes. The tube amps came in all different sizes and strengths and were used to push power to huge sound systems.
