ReggaeBoyz Sound, has been playing music collectively since 2005. Whether in a mainstream event or dancehall arena, ReggaeBoyz Sound brings their knowledge of all genres of music tied with mixing and blending skills to the table. Over the years, they have proven to be one of the few deejay groups that can fit into any event and provide the same amount of energy needed to give party goers and music listeners what they want and need. The Sound is comprised of selectors, each having more than 20 years of experience playing music for events including weddings, banquets, album release parties, various club events, and movie soundtracks.
Over the course of their career, ReggaeBoyz has been featured with top deejays, Sounds and entertainers including: Tony Matterhorn, Stone Love, Afrique Sound, Steelie Bashment, Massive B, Rennaissance, Bass Odyssey, Kid Capri, DJ Ace, DJ Self, Funkmaster Flex, DJ Evil Dee, DJ Envy, Road International, and Cypha Sounds.
ReggaeBoyz Sound has made their mark on New York City’s major venues including, BB Kings, The Supper Club, Mars 2112, Club Exit, Element, Nakisaki Night Club in Long Island, and Caribbean City, and in Miami venues including Opium Gardens, Sobe Live and Club B.E.D. – 93.5 FM, and SwurvRadio.com.
Not only can they mix music, they produce remixes as well. Their biggest Reggae/Hip Hop remixes include dancehall artist Mavado’s chart-topping hit Money Changer and the Gaza Anthem featuring Vybz Kartel & Beenie Man. These two remixes were featured by Bobby Konders of New York’s Hot 97 and Power 105.1’s DJ Norie as well as on mixtapes worldwide. Their tribute to the late Gregory Isaacs entitled “The Cool Ruler,” was released as an EP by Affluent Records and is currently on sale on iTunes and all other online music retailers.
ReggaeBoyz currently has a weekly radio show on Sound Chat Radio entitled Jus Vibes – spinning the latest in Reggae vocals and the hottest Dancehall. The Sound is also featured on Beatminerz Radio on Friday nights hosting the Island Vibes show, which focuses on classic and current Reggae and Dancehall music as well as return features on SiriusXM Radio’s The Joint radio station weekly show – “Dancehall Saturday Night.” Sound leader Mishigan is a contributing writer for SMOOTH Magazine – curating the Top 7 Hip-Hop list for the magazine.
